How to Care for your Dried Flowers

Dried flowers can be a beautiful addition to the home. They can add a splash of colour during the colder months - when the British flower season has come to a close and the landscape becomes a little bleaker. They perfectly reflect natures dormancy and with a little love and care can last for years.

Handle Gently

Dried flowers are fragile, so handle them with care to avoid breaking the stems

Choose the Right Spot

Just like fresh flowers, dried stems do better out of direct sunlight. Sunlight will bleach the flowers, resulting in a loss of vibrancy.

Moisture

Display your flowers in a space that is free from moisture, as humidity can cause mould and make the flowers floppy.

Dust Free

Dried flowers can collect dust over time. To keep your dried stems looking their best, you can periodically use a hairdryer on the coolest setting to gently blow away any dust and cobwebs.

Fading Stems

Dried flowers will slowly fade and you may want to remove any stems that you think have deteriorated, perhaps replacing them with new ones. This will help to update the arrangement and keep it looking fresh for longer.

Cautions

Keep out of reach of children and pets, as some flowers can be harmful and toxic if consumed. Some ingredients may also cause skin or eye irritation, so please wash your hands after handling.
