How to Care for your Christmas Wreath

We always source beautiful and sustainably grown British foliage and stems and use a generous amount of moss to keep our wreaths well hydrated. This means that our wreaths are as fresh as possible when they are delivered to you and, if correctly cared for, will happily last the festive season.

Christmas wreaths are rich in symbolism and are a beautiful way to celebrate and welcome guests over the festive period. We use a carefully selected mix of seasonal foliage and dried stems, that reflect our winter landscape and we have put this simple guide together to help you keep your wreath looking its best.

Choose the Right Spot

Our wreaths are intended for outdoor use, they will be happiest away from too much direct sunlight on a shaded front door or porch.

Water

Our wreaths are made on a moss base. The moss acts a water source for the fresh stems and will come well hydrated. To keep your wreath looking fresh for as long as possible, it is important to regularly check the moisture level of the moss. We recommend you spritz the wreath every 2-3 days with water, focusing on the moss and fresh foliage , not forgetting to mist the underside too.

Fading Stems

The wreath will naturally change over the festive period. As the foliage dries slightly it may change colour and form, this is normal and we think adds to its beauty. If there are any stems you are unhappy with, you can easily snip them off to refresh the look, but we don’t think you will need to.

Disposing of your Wreath

When the time comes to take your wreath down, we would encourage you to dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way. We make our wreaths on a copper wreath ring, which can be reused. You can either keep it for a future wreath making project, or return it to us and we will reuse it the following year. Once the wire has been carefully cut away, all the moss, foliage and stems can be composted too, so there is minimal waste.
